ISER is an interdisciplinary department of the University of Essex that brings together economists, sociologists, statisticians and other social scientists. As well as specialising in the production and analysis of longitudinal data – evidence which tracks changes in the lives of the same individuals over time – ISER contributes to cross-national research, through its own interdisciplinary research programme and the development of research resources. ISER includes the Microsimulation Unit that develops and maintains a UK microsimulation tax-benefit model and coordinates the development of EUROMOD.

Previous experience:
ISER has coordinated or taken part in many FP projects (such as EPUNet, the EuroPanel Users’ Network) and incorporated the European Centre for Analysis in the Social Sciences (ECASS), a research infrastructure supported by FP6.

Research Professor in ISER and Visiting Professor at the Centre for Analysis of Social Exclusion at the London School of Economics. She has more than 25 years of experience of designing, building and using tax-benefit microsimulation models and has coordinated 6 international EUROMOD- related projects. She has co-authored/edited 5 books on microsimulation modelling and published widely in economics and social policy journals. Her research interests include the gender effects of redistribution policy and child poverty measurement and analysis.

He got a MsC in Public Economcs (York) and a PhD in Economics (Essex). Currently he is Assistant Professor in Public Economics at the University of Insubria (Italy) and Research Associate at the Institute for Social and Economic Research at the University of Essex.
He works on EUROMOD development since 2007 with particular interest on labour supply modelling. His research focuses on the analysis of behavioural effects of policy changes, the redistributive effects of public policies in a cross-country perspective and the determinants of material deprivation in Europe.

Research Fellow in ISER, holds a PhD in Applied Economics and degrees in Mathematics
and Education. At ISER she has headed projects on cross-national analysis of incomes and family structures, youth poverty, and young people’s family forms; her research interests also include fertility decision-making, child development and education. She is a member of several cross-national research consortia, including REPRO, Net-SILC and DYNSOC.

is a Research Fellow working on EUROMOD development since 2006. His research focuses on the distributional effects of tax-benefit policies in the international comparison, flat taxes, tax evasion, fiscal support for families with children as well as tax-benefit microsimulation modelling.
