\nThe Center for Research in Participation, Social Movements and Collective Action (NEPAC-UNICAMP<\/a>) is linked to the Graduate Program in Political Science, Institute of Philosophy and Human Sciences (IFCH), the State University of Campinas and brings together students and researchers undergraduate, master’s and doctoral active in Political Science, predominantly, Social Anthropology and Social Sciences. Created in 2008, NEPAC develops investigations in participatory democracy, social movements and collective action. Our main focus of analysis is the relationship between social movements and political institutions and its implications on the formulation processes of public policies and expansion of citizenship rights.

\nIn addition to the research conducted individually by members of the Center, which count towards your accomplishment with this collaborative space, we worked together on research project Actors and participatory dynamic in S\u00e3o Paulo, which focuses on the relationship between the movement housing and the political-institutional field. Other research was on Participation in Lula\u2019s Government, under the project An Inter-University Consortium on the Americas in Comparative Perspective and Transnational. Interrogating the Civil Society agenda: Social Movements, Civic Participation, and Democratic Innovation “, involving Brazil, USA, Mexico, Argentina, Costa Rica and Venezuela. This project was coordinated by the Center for Latin American, Caribbean, and Latino Studies (CLACLS), University of Massachusetts, Amherst (UMass), and had funding from the Ford Foundation.
\nCurrently, we work on research Social movements and implementation of policies in comparative perspective, funded by National Council of Technological and Scientific Development (CNPq).<\/p>\n
